More

An extremely fine quality red-figure lekythos is decorated with Artemis in her role as a huntress. The goddess moves rapidly to the right, bowstring drawn. She wears a long, finely-pleated chiton with an overfall (apoptygma) girdled at her waist and a panther skin draped around her shoulders. Her hair is dressed under a cap (saccos), with an errant lock just in front of her ear. A quiver is behind her, capped at both ends.
