Overview

This expressive young satyr has pointed animal ears and small horns at the forehead, poking through unruly curly locks of hair that spiral from the crown. He turns to the left, his face cast upwards, highlighting finely incised fur is visible on the goatskin tied at his shoulder. The bust’s rounded shape indicates the piece was the terminal of a fulcrum, once attached to a sofa.
